Overview

The Grand Egyptian Museum opened after two decades of construction and immediately became the largest museum dedicated to a single civilisation anywhere. Its scale is the problem: 50,000 objects across twelve main galleries, and most visitors run out of energy before they reach the part they came for.

This private tour is structured to avoid that. You start at the atrium colossus of Ramses II, climb the Grand Staircase past royal statuary arranged so the pyramids appear through the glass wall at the top, then move through the chronological galleries at a pace that leaves plenty of time and attention for the two Tutankhamun halls — the first time the entire tomb assemblage has ever been shown together.
